Hello world
Hello world
Welcome to my new, and rebuilt from scratch, corner of the world wide web! My name is Jesper Nielsen, I am a Principal Architect & Technology Provocateur of trade, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MWP) and former Windows Insider MVP - I am so excited, to finally start sharing my day-to-day ramblings and experiences.
I have been rambling within the IT industry for decades and have collected a wide range of experiences, enterprise level End-user computing, End-user solutions, and End User Experience. Although my primary focus has always been focusing on Windows Management and End User Experience, I have a strong passion for areas around Endpoint Security, Endpoint Baselining and Endpoint Management and everything within the reach of an End User Devices.
It is my job to visualize Microsoft technologies to IT Professionals, organizations, and corporations, embracing the philosophy behind Modern Work and Security. Helping apply User Centric strategies, helping define goals to transform and move organizations and corporations towards Microsoft 365 fueled Modern Workplace, Modern Security and Modern Management.
I wanted to start by telling you why I created this blog, what you will be seeing more of in my posts, and my overall experience of rebuilding my website. Blogs have long been a huge source of help and inspiration to me, and I wanted to contribute my own voice to the great dialogue. The amount of ideas, how-to’s and inspiration are constantly spinning in my head and is getting ready to jump out.
Microsoft 365 Endpoint Management topics will, obviously, be the main topics of my blog, powered by my professional ramblings, including a mixture of lifehack and other professional experiences.
The whole thing is Work in progress… I am no expert on any of this. I may be a “perfectionist”, but I am nowhere near perfect. So, expect a lot of trial and error in my endeavor becoming a ‘blogger’, and please feel free to share your advice and communicate with me along the way!
I have been waiting to launch a blog for a while (years) now and I am pleased that I finally had the guts to click that publish button and stop procrastinating.
Starting with a hard reset
Building a blog and navigating topics, is hard work - this is not a fast task people. The whole project has been a steep learning experience, and I felt a hard reset would be advantageous, and I have started rebuilding my blog from the Ground Up. At the same time, it gave me the opportunity to thoroughly document the process and share it along the way.
UPDATE: I have moved away from WordPress and rebuilt the whole site using static website framework running the site as an Azure Static Web App and what you are looking at, is built using Hugo .
In short, it means core functionality is restored, core pages are recreated, reviewed and rewritten, and more content is flowing in gradually. I still have a few action points and a huge post backlog that needs to be rewritten and shared
Follow my endeavor building the blog and read more about why I decided to use Hugo here .
Stay tuned for more posts coming soon!

Blogging
Did you know that 90% of new bloggers struggle with writing introductions for their posts?
Count me into those 90% too, however, blogging is perfect platform to share my interest, ideas and is a powerful way to save my keystrokes - highly inspired by a post by Scott Hanselman from 2010, Do they deserve the gift of your keystrokes? , I have finally started saving my keystrokes, and this is my posts.

5 reasons You should join a User Group
August 8, 2024 by Jesper Nielsen
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a user group? A user group is a community of people who share a common interest or passion, such as technology, software, or hobbies. User groups are a fantastic way to learn new skills, network with like-minded people, and contribute to the community. Engaging actively in a community is immensely rewarding, and I urge everyone to become part of one.
How to remove trailing spaces in Visual Studio Code
July 29, 2024 by Jesper Nielsen
Why Trailing Spaces MattersI really do not like trailing spaces. Trailing spaces are any extra spaces or tabs at the end of a line of code or text. They may seem harmless, but they can cause problems for developers, editors, and users - and they somehow burn my eyes :) Trailing spaces can affect the efficiency of the code or file in several ways. First, they can increase the file size unnecessarily, which can slow down the loading and processing time.
