I am inspired to help customers empower their employees and do great work using the devices and apps they love.
My name is Jesper Nielsen. I am a Cloud Endpoint Solution Engineer at Microsoft, a self-proclaimed Technology Provocateur, and a former 9-year-in-a-row Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (Microsoft MVP ).
In my current role, I focus on helping enterprise customers modernize their endpoints and embrace a Zero Trust security model. Although my primary focus has always been Windows Management and End User Experience, I have a strong passion for Endpoint Security, Endpoint Baselining, and everything within the reach of End User Devices. I demonstrate Microsoft technologies to IT Professionals and organizations, embracing the philosophy behind Modern Work and Security.
My journey
My first computer was a Lamda 8300 with a sticky green rubber keyboard, no storage, and less memory than you will find in a child’s watch today. I cannot say it started there, but it lit a spark. Many years later, in college, I met Windows 3.0, WordPerfect, and AutoCAD - my path had a direction.
You only live once? Wrong - you only die once, you live every day.
My career began just before Windows 3.11 was a thing. I installed it from floppy disks, optimized autoexec.bat, and wrote automation for AutoCAD using AutoLISP . Back in the day, automation meant application packaging and some “fancy” long bat files - and I will argue many of those techniques are similar to what we do today.
Opposite to many who in the early days focused primarily on backend and servers, I have always focused on the user experience: talking to users and making their day-to-day life easier. I became a consultant and have worked in IT for over half my life, designing and implementing several generations of Windows across small- and large-scale infrastructures in many different industries.
What drives me is being the “go-to guy” - helping people reach their goals. In recent years, I have had the privilege of being a mentor, which I find deeply rewarding.
I do the work I do because I love it - the people I meet, embracing the inner nerd, and the art of a good presentation.

I have facilitated numerous seminars and events over the years. With a passionate delivery and an often dry sense of humor, I have become a recognized speaker - read more about my speaking experience.
Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVP)
I enjoy keeping current and being the ’expert’ ready to help customers, colleagues, and people in the tech communities. I contribute and share my professional experiences, life experiences, and ’life hacks.’ This, I believe, is why I was awarded the Microsoft MVP for Windows and Devices for IT from 2016 until I joined Microsoft in November 2024.
Community rocks
I am active in the community, often found at user group events as both speaker and attendee. I am a founding member of Windows Management User Group Denmark (WMUGdk) and part of the team running Workplace Ninjas User group Denmark . I am always willing to participate as a speaker, participant, or supporter because #communityrocks.

Random facts
I finished the Dublin Marathon around the four-hour mark, and I am often found mountain biking or walking my neighbourhood. I have been a gymnastics instructor for more than 30 years - I have seen many of the kids I coached grow into adults, and knowing I had a lasting impact makes me very proud. I encourage everybody to become a coach, trainer, or just get involved in youth sports - for me, it was the path that made me who I am today.
That same joy of helping people grow has followed me into my professional life: coaching colleagues and people from the community, watching them gain confidence and expand their skills, is incredibly rewarding.
I always enjoy exploring technology and opening my kids’ interest in various technologies. I am occasionally exploring C# programming and boosting my PowerShell skills on a daily basis. I am also collecting Credly badges, including:
